XCEL TEAM USAG:
The USA Gymnastics Xcel program was developed as an alternative competitive program offering individual flexibility to coaches and gymnasts. The goal of Xcel is to provide gymnasts of varying abilities and commitment levels the opportunity for a rewarding gymnastics experience. The program allows a wide choice in skills to meet requirements so selection may be based on an individual athlete’s strengths.
The focus of the Xcel program is sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, and fun. The emphasis in the Xcel program is on correct technique, form, and performance.
Competition begins in Xcel Bronze, and continues into Xcel Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Sapphire.
We are currently offering Xcel team for the following levels; Xcel, Bronze, Xcel Silver, Xcel Gold, Xcel Platinum, Xcel Diamond. If you would like to join our Xcel Team, please, call or email us for an evaluation.
DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM:
The Women’s Development Program (WDP) was created with the belief that all athletes, regardless of their potential, must have a solid foundation of basic skills in order to advance safely.
Compulsory Levels 2 – 5
Competition begins at the compulsory level. Each gymnast competes the same routine nationwide in their respective levels across all four USA Gymnastics events. This provides an opportunity to eliminate judging bias, as scoring is based on technique and execution rather than routine construction and artistry.
Optional Levels 6 – 10
Once a gymnast has completed the Compulsory Program, she moves on into the Optional Program. Optional gymnasts have the ability to perform to their strengths while meeting specific requirements set forth in the USAG Code of Points (CoP).The Optional Program provides the opportunity to compete at the college level.
TOPS/HOPES
TOPS
The Talent Opportunity Program (TOPS) is under the direction of the International Elite Committee (IEC). This program provides early screening and identification of talented athletes, along with educational programming for coaches.
The purpose of the TOPS National Program is to build physical abilities and technically sound fundamentals for 8-10 year old female athletes. While strength and flexibility continue to develop, the athletes will learn compulsory routines which include the root skills required for elite level development. Form, execution, and shapes are the primary focus of this program. The TOPS Program is the beginning of the path for an elite athlete. Whether an athlete chooses the elite path or the Development Program path, the TOPS program will assist in developing a well-prepared athlete as she moves forward.

HOPES
HOPES provides athletes ages 10-12 with an opportunity to compete the traditional Elite compulsory and a modified FIG Optional routine and includes an opportunity to qualify to the Challenge (HOPES division only). It is a ‘Pre’ Pre-Elite program. Athletes compete in the same qualifiers as their Elite teammates and earn their way up the ranks!
